HOW TO WRITE A GOOD PROFILE
DO be honest and give specific examples and anecdotes about your self.
DON'T concoct an excellent work of fiction. Sooner or later, you'll get
caught and you will have wasted everyone's time.
HOW TO LET SOMEONE KNOW YOU LIKE THEIR PROFILE
DO write a letter just for them (no generic form letters, please) and tell them what it was about their profile that caught your eye.
DO give them your name, so you won't feel like total strangers (even though you are!).
DON'T start off by saying you two are soul mates. You don't want to scare the person off before they even check out your profile.
DON'T just say "You're hot!"
DON'T insult the person-even if you think you're being cute and sarcastic. Sarcasm doesn't come off well in emails-even if you use icons like ;)
HOW TO CONTACT SOMEONE BEFORE THE DATE
DO talk to someone on the phone or video phone before meeting them
DON'T give someone your home number. Give your cell number so you can screen your calls in case he/she becomes a complete stalker.
HOW TO PICK A MEETING PLACE
DO meet in a public place where you can get comfortable and chat.
DON'T meet in a darkly lit bar where everyone looks good-even before the beer goggles.
HOW TO START THE NIGHT OFF
DO tell your date you have plans later that night, so you can make a fast getaway if things turn sour.
DON'T actually make other plans. that way, if you two hit it off, you can spend the whole night together.
DO tell your friends to call and check up on you during the date to see if you need an easy out.
DON'T have your friends come along with you in order to check out your date. He/She might notice them holding up the score cards behind his/her back.
HOW TO IDENTIFY EACH OTHER
DO come up with a way to easily pick each other out in case you're meet in a crowded place.
DON'T take a cue from the movies and do something lame like each carry a red flower.
HOW TO END THE DATE
DO be honest. If you never want to see them again, say it in a nice way.
DON'T say "We have to do this again sometime" when you really mean, "I'd rather scratch my eyes out than ever look at you again."
HOW TO MAKE A FOLLOW-UP CALL
DO call to tell the person you had a great time and you'd love to do it again.
DO have suggestions for a time and place you'd like to meet next instead of having 5 minutes of dead air time when you're trying to come up with ideas.
DON'T call every 10 minutes and then hang up when they don't answer. There is such thing as caller ID!
DON'T use any lame rules-like wait three days before calling. Dial the
person up whenever you feel like it. Or email them, if you want it to seem more casual.
DON'T expect the other person to call you. He/she may be just as shy or
confused as you are and someone's got to make the first move!
HOW TO DEAL WITH REJECTION (It happens to all of us)
DO take the high road and move on. There are plenty of other awesome singles on Datingz.com.
DON'T make a desperate call to badmouth the person to let them know you were too good for them anyway.
DON'T drunken dial the person to try to convince them to go out with you again.
